We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our laboratory team as a Moisture Room Balance Operator.This is a hands-on role within our laboratory team, focusing on precise weighing and preparation of samples for further analysis. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, safety and teamwork are essential.About the PositionShift: 6am-2pmContract: Full-time, permanent positionSalary: Competitive, with opportunities for progressionThe day to dayPreparing and handling samples through careful mixing, blending, and dipping techniquesOperating, maintaining and calibrating high-precision analytical moisture analysis equipmentInterpreting moisture results to support accurate laboratory reportingReplenishing materials and ensuring smooth workflow across the teamOrganising, storing, and distributing samples throughout the lab as requiredMaintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in line with company standardsThe EssentialsA positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and progress.Great organisational and communication skills and a methodical approach to tasks.Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused.Previous lab experience essential.Science qualification ideal but not essential, A-levels or GCSE’s as a minimum.Familiarity with Microsoft Office is essential.Experience using a LIMS based system would be ideal.Experience of using, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment would be ideal.Working at ALSThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
