
Senior Quality Engineer

- Represent the customer's interests and help to maintain the open and collaborative relationship we have.
- Provide quality input and advice through the project lifecycle.
- Identify quality risk and work to mitigate, manage and escalate issues to programme leadership.
- Manage non-conformance process, driving root cause analysis and prevention where appropriate.
- Oversee progress and sign-off the delivery process to give the customer assurance their requirements have been met.
- Collect, analyse and report on quality performance data.
- Quality planning in Production and Supply Chain to drive 'right first time' performance.
- Lead investigations into quality escapes, managing through to preventative action using suitable tools and techniques.
- Provide Quality expertise into future business opportunities (bids and proposals).
- A proficient quality assurance engineer with experience in a related industry and be familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
- Previous customer-facing role or experience is beneficial.
- Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within a team or organisation.
- Experience of auditing quality ISO9001 management systems.
- An excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques, and be able to provide guidance to others in their use (e.g. Pareto, FMEA, 5 why's, 8D, etc.)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and able to give examples of how you have used them in previous situations.
- ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a quality, science, engineering discipline are desirable.
- Membership of a recognised quality institute e.g. CQI is desirable.
- ISO 9001 auditor preferable but training can be provided.
