As a CS, this role is perfect for those who enjoy working with students, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.Responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor:
  • Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to pupils across various subjects.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Support students’ engagement and progress during lessons.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil participation and lesson outcomes.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
  • Previous experience working with children in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Confidence to manage a class and deliver pre-prepared lessons.
  • Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach to working in different school environments.
  • A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
