This will require the candidate to allocate accurate reserves and where appropriate, subject to policy liability, settle those claims within handling authorities on a timely, equitable and commercial basis, whilst striving to develop own skills and improve service and quality standards. This is a customer facing role.Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling of insurance claims, primarily Property Claims involving technical decisions
  • Ability to manage a caseload of claims from a desktop level, showing effective organisation
  • Caseload/Customer management of claims from start to finish
  • Make effective and prompt decisions in respect of policy cover
  • Able to communicate decisions clearly over the phone and in written form
  • Maintain accurate file reserves.
  • Ensures customers are treated fairly and in accordance with FCA Guidelines.
  • Provide claims support and expertise for underwriting queries, interpreting and applying policy coverage
Skills and Experience Specification:Essential:
  • Experience of working with domestic and commercial Insurance claims, involving decision making.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous phone and written based customer service experience.
  • Ability to meet specific deadlines and manage workloads
  • A committed and flexible approach, whilst taking accountability for own actions
  • Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough data capture
  • Providing support, technical knowledge and acting as a referral point.
Desirable:
  • Progression towards ACII
  • Experience dealing with large complex claims
  • Experience of managing and handling referrals from Delegated Authorities.
