
CKD Clinical Nurse Specialist

- Management of the CKD team in the absence of the Band 7
- Ensure cross cover is provided for the patient caseload when colleagues are on leave
- Undertake the appraisals and sickness management of junior colleagues
- Undertake nurse led CKD clinics on site and at peripheral hospitals
- In the absence of the team lead to be responsible for ensuring resources are used effectively within
- the clinical environment
- Assist the transplant team with the on call transplant co-ordinator role
- Undertake home visits when required
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Demonstrable continuous personal and professional and academic development
- Demonstrable experience in a leadership capacity
- NMC Registration
- Post reg. specialist qualification or equivalent where appropriate
- Demonstrable experience at managing a renal service development
- Good communication skills, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels
- Effective influencing skills: in general and with senior health care professionals
- Ability to facilitate change within the work area
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
