- Build and maintain strong relationships with external data vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements.
- Manage external data vendor costs and estimates
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Assess data quality, reliability, and relevance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data aligns with investment and operational processes.
- Identify new data sources to enhance capabilities.
- Align data acquisition with strategic objectives.
- Optimise data usage for better investment and operational outcomes and efficiency.
- Ensure data usage complies with contracts, regulations, and internal policies.
- Implement controls and systems to mitigate data-related risks.
- Engage with investment managers, analysts, and operational teams to understand data needs.
- Provide cost awareness, performance insights and actionable intelligence to business stakeholders to support strong business decision making
- Maintain transparency and alignment across stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reporting to support senior management discussion and decision making.
- Develop deep knowledge of Baillie Gifford products and services.
- Stay current with industry trends and data technologies.
- Apply best practices and drive initiatives to improve data quality and vendor relations.
- Deep understanding of the investment management industry and Data vendors that support it such as Bloomberg, MSCI, LSEG
- Proven experience in data vendor management, including contract reviews and cost management.
- Experience with operational tasks such as, business analysis, as well as collaborating with Data Operations
