- Registered Midwife with current NMC registration
- First Degree or working towards in relevant subject
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Mentorship Qualification
- NIPE trained or willingness to undertake NIPE course
- Post registration experience in all aspects of Midwifery Care
- Evidence of clinical competence
- Experience in the screening service
- Experience in developing and implementing guidelines
- Experience of data collection and analysis
- Solid experience in using IT systems (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Evidence of teaching and developing junior staff
- Good communication skills
- Good leadership skills
- Good counselling and listening skills
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
- Understanding of current issues in antenatal and newborn screening e.g. Failsafe systems, national standards
- Understanding and knowledge of key performance indicators in screening
- Demonstrates skills in IT systems and use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of change management
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to produce high standards of documentation
