- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote independence and well-being.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
- Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Monitor and report any changes in individuals' physical or mental health conditions.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on best practises in social services.
- Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
- Previous experience in a similar Support Worker role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexible availability for different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- No specific educational requirements, but relevant qualifications in health and social care are advantageous.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role.
- Understanding of person-centred care and its importance in supporting individuals.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to social services.
- Basic understanding of medication administration and record-keeping.
- Ability to assess and respond to individuals' needs effectively.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Part-Time hours, with the possibility of optional overtime.
- Split shifts.
- Work may involve physical tasks and standing for extended periods.
- A full UK licence is essential for insurance purposes.
- There will be dogs present in the home during shifts, they are friendly and an important part of the family so will not be locked away.
