Our client is a specialist groundworks subcontractor based in Birmingham, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential infrastructure projects across the Midlands. Focused on foundations, drainage, service installations, and earthworks, they work closely with main contractors and developers to provide reliable and efficient groundwork solutions. The company manages projects typically valued between £500k and £5m, with a growing portfolio and a commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are working alongside these respected residential groundworks contractor as they continue to grow their operations across the Midlands region. They are seeking a Senior Estimator with proven experience in residential groundwork estimating, who can confidently prepare accurate and competitive tenders. The role involves detailed take-offs, subcontractor package analysis, and close collaboration with project and commercial teams to support cost planning and risk management. This is a key position for an estimator ready to influence business growth and help secure profitable contracts within the residential sector.REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrable experience estimating residential groundworks packages including foundations, drainage, service trenches, and bulk earthworks
  • Strong knowledge of groundworks construction methods, health and safety requirements, and subcontractor management
  • Proficiency in take-off and estimating software (e.g. CostX, Buildsoft, or Excel-based tools)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation specific to residential developments
  • Commercially focused with a proven ability to produce competitive bids under tight deadlines and work collaboratively within a commercial team
