This role allows you to provide individual and small group support, ensuring pupils engage with their learning, develop confidence, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.About the RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers to support pupils with additional needs. You will assist in implementing learning strategies, provide one-to-one support, and help manage behaviour, contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
- Assist pupils with personal care or mobility support if required.
- Supervise pupils during breaks and lunchtimes when needed.
- Participate in school trips and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Experience working with children in a UK school setting, preferably with SEND.
- A degree in Psychology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent (desirable).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
