Contract: Full-time, Term-time onlyAre you experienced in supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs? Are you looking for a rewarding 1:1 role where you can make a real difference?We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Quinton (B32) who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young boy in Year 1 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The pupil also has speech and language needs and occasionally displays challenging behaviour linked to his SEN.The Role:In this position, you will be:
- Providing 1:1 support to the pupil during whole-class learning
- Assisting with behaviour regulation and helping the pupil develop self-regulation strategies
- Delivering pre-planned speech and language exercises to support communication development
- Working closely with the class teacher to monitor and update on the pupil's progress
- Supporting learning in line with the KS1 curriculum
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working within a classroom environment
- A sound understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism, speech and language needs, and challenging behaviour
- A calm, resilient and patient approach to working with children with SEN
