Pastoral Support OfficerLocation: WolverhamptonStart Date: September 2025Salary: Competetive (dependent on experience)About the role:Here at teaching personnel we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officer to join a thriving secondary school in Wolverhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing and helping them reach their full potential in a safe and positive learning environment.Role Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day pastoral care and emotional support to students across the school.Work closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams to promote student wellbeing.Build positive relationships with pupils, offering guidance and interventions where neededSupport students with social, emotional and behavioural needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported in school.Monitor attendance and behaviour, implementing strategies to encourage positive engagement.Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies where appropriate to provide holistic support.Contribute to the development of a nurturing school culture where every student feels valued and respected.Role Requirements:Experience working with young people in an educational, social care, or youth work setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.A compassionate, patient and proactive approach to supporting students.Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.Relevant qualifications in education, child development, youth work or counselling are desirable but not essential.If you are passionate about student wellbeing and want to play a key role in shaping a positive school experience, we would love to hear from you!If this sounds like the role for you, please apply with your most up to date CV!All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
