Occasional Saturdays, around 6 a yearWe’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Oxford. This role involves supporting the Head Chef with daily service, leading the brigade when required, and helping to deliver both high-volume meals and hospitality events.The role will involve:
- Running the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Supervising and motivating the team of chefs
- Assisting with menu development and food presentation
- Taking responsibility for stock control, orders and deliveries
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen standards are met
- Helping to organise and deliver functions and special events
- Experienced chef with previous supervisory or management experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Food Production (or equivalent)
- Intermediate Food Hygiene (IOSH Managing Safely desirable)
- Confident leading a team in a busy kitchen
- Reliable, organised and focused on high standards
- £35,006 annual salary (£16.83 p/h)
- Overtime available at £25.25 p/h
- Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:30 (occasional weekend cover)
- A supportive team environment with room to progress
- Must be willing to take An Enhanced DBS check if succuesful as it is required for this role.
