- Provide tailored support to students with a range of disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
- Promote inclusivity and respect by encouraging positive interactions between pupils and fostering a welcoming, diverse learning environment.
- Support student independence and personal development, guiding pupils to build confidence, life skills, and self-advocacy.
- Assist with emotional well-being and behaviour management, ensuring pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated in their learning journey.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to implement individual learning plans and celebrate each pupil’s progress and achievements.
- Understanding of working with children and young people with a range of disabilities, with the ability to adapt learning support to meet individual needs.
- Commitment to inclusivity and equality, ensuring every pupil feels respected, valued, and fully included in the school community.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, supporting positive interactions with pupils, staff, and families.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the flexibility to respond calmly and effectively to a variety of behaviours and learning challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team, contributing to personalised learning plans and promoting independence, confidence, and joyful engagement.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
