As a Principal Teacher in Fife you will be responsible for supporting the senior leadership team by contributing to the strategic vision for the school, working with a wide range of stakeholders to implement and pursue the objectives set in policies, and for contributing to the development of a self-improving system across the education community.Specific duties:
  • Named Person for Caseload of approximately 50 pupils in designated House
  • Supporting the delivery of targeted support for identified pupils in designated House as required throughout the session.
  • Lead and manage the pastoral wellbeing of pupils including Attainment, Attendance, Behaviour, Curriculum, Learning pathways, family engagement, PSE and positive destination planning.
  • Responsible for producing and leading pastoral /support improvement plan and contribute to the management of the school improvement planning process.
  • Lead, manage and review the development and delivery of personalised learning programmes for identified young people.
  • Leadership, management and delivery of Primary Transition and Attendance of pupils.
  • Working with other establishments and agencies on behalf of specific groups or pupils.
Qualification, Registration and Skill RequirementsYou are required to have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities which will enable you to work as a member of the senior leadership team to lead and manage school improvement, both at strategic and operational levels, to ensure continuous improvement.You are required to demonstrate a commitment to your own professional learning as a practitioner through career-long professional learning activity and to be able to show how this has impacted on your practice.Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.You are required to be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and to model all behaviour expected of a teacher in Scotland in line with the relevant Professional Standards.The relevant legislation on the management of denominational schools in Scotland states: "A teacher appointed to any post on the staff of any such school by the education authority. . . shall be required to be approved as regards religious belief and character by representatives of the church or denominational body in whose interest the school has been conducted."Please go to the SCES website for details https://sces.org.uk/church-approval/Further Information
