Interview Date: To be confirmedAbout the RoleWe are supporting an FE College who are recruiting a skilled Media Technician for a dynamic UAL Media Department at our client's Harrow-on-the-Hill Campus. This department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including PC workrooms with Adobe CC, a dedicated Editing Suite, green-screen studio, professional photography space, and a full range of specialist media hardware.As Media Technician, you will:
- Maintain all Media workrooms and equipment, ensuring everything is serviced, repaired, and tracked efficiently
- Support students with their practical coursework and productions
- Lead and facilitate workshops, inductions, and timetabled sessions on equipment and software use
- Assist teaching staff with technical support during lessons
- Play a key role in special events such as Media EXPO, open days, taster sessions, and end-of-year screenings
- Minimum Level 4 qualification in Media or Creative subject area, or significant media industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro & Adobe Express; familiarity with Final Cut Pro, Avid, or DaVinci Resolve is desirable
- Experience in editing software file management (project setup, file organisation, timelines, syncing audio, basic colour grading)
- Good working knowledge of Mac OS X
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware/software faults to an intermediate level
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to support and advise students and staff
- Experience in facilitating workshops or group sessions is highly desirable
