We require an enthusiastic person to provide clinical support to the multi-disciplinary Paediatric Audiology team at Hackney Ark and Royal London Hospital, with flexibility to travel to all Barts Health NHS Trust sites. Training will be provided to the right candidate.The post holder will be required to work efficiently and effectively, liaising with patients, carers, clinicians and other service users as required. Candidates will be expected to undertake a range of clinical duties including paediatric audiology assessment and habilitation.The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a busy environment; the applicant will preferably have experience working in a paediatric audiology department. You must be flexible and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in using Microsoft office software, IT literate and numerate is essential. Ideally the candidate will be experienced in using Auditbase.Main duties of the jobTo provide a quality Audiological assessment of children who present with hearing difficulties, with particular reference to the referrer and patient's relevant concerns.To carry out a full range of Audiological tests and procedures in accordance with national professional standards and procedures, and local protocols.To obtain informal consent from the patient (or carer) and carry out routine, advanced or specialised Audiological procedures, according to the clinical strategy within agreed local protocols, or as agreed with medical or senior staff.About usBarts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation.   • BSc Audiology OR BTEC qualification in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement & successfully completed both parts of BAAT I and II (or equivalent)
  • Registered to practice as an Audiologist with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of Paediatric Audiology, and advanced Audiological test techniques
  • An awareness of national Audiology and NHS developments
  • Evidence of CPD
Desirable
  • MSc in Audiological Science plus CAC/CCC Or Successful completion of the STP in Audiology
  • Eligible/registered as a clinical scientist with HCPC or on the voluntary register with RCCP
  • Advanced courses in Audiology
  • British Sign Language Qualifications
  • Deaf Awareness Qualifications
  • Membership with the BAA and/or BSA
  • Diploma/Post graduate Certificate in Management
ExperienceEssential
  • Paediatric Audiology, including behavioural assessment and rehabilitation
Desirable
  • Responsibility for area(s) of speciality within Audiology and/or general administration
  • Demonstrable operational managerial responsibility
