You will be a part of the Collaboration Team who are primarily responsible for the management and delivery of our enterprise Collaboration solutions, including major installations of Microsoft email platforms, Office 365 technologies and Cisco Telephony solutions. The team along with others makes up the Infrastructure & Operations Department, consisting of numerous staff members across multiple specialist areas.Over the last several years the department has embarked on a process of transformational change. Projects have included the migration and enhancement of our document collaboration and storage platform (SharePoint Online) as well as rolling out Microsoft Teams across the organisation. We have also migrated our Exchange on-premises services to Exchange Online.We are looking for an experienced and dynamic technical professional to help assist us on the next step of our continuing journey of change in the Collaboration area. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of driving positive change for both staff and students at Manchester Met.The primary focus of the role is to act as an Exchange Collaboration Engineer, assisting in the day-to-day management and BAU support of the University Email infrastructure. The role will also support the diverse suite of other collaboration technologies in use at Man Met. You will play a supporting role in shaping critical pieces of work and innovative change within your specialist area. Using your experience in the field you will also provide guidance to junior members of the team where required.About you:
  • The role requires you to have experience of working in technical teams with a strong background in the support and management of enterprise level collaboration technologies.
  • You should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work and interact with teams to deliver on agreed deadlines. You will also have a customer service focused approach, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience of Exchange on-premises (2019), Exchange Online and associated technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of email security platforms (e.g. Mimecast, Defender for O365)
  • Knowledge of enterprise level IT systems and experience of managing a collaboration platform in such an environment.
  • Experience of working in technical teams to deliver on a range of tasks, projects and outcomes.
  • Knowledge and experience of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Teams.
  • Administration of enterprise level IT systems using PowerShell.
  • Technical collaboration background, up to and including 3rd line support.
  • Experience of working with IT incident management applications (e.g. Cherwell)
  • Experience of supporting critical projects & business processes.
Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft PowerApps & Power Automate.
  • Knowledge and experience of Cisco telephony environments (CUCM, UCCXE) and associated technologies.
  • Experience of Active Directory, Azure AD and Microsoft Licensing.
  • Experience of managing security related workloads (e.g. Info rights management, IDAM systems, retention and disposal programmes).
  • Experience of deployment and configuration management related to collaboration (i.e. Outlook, IPT endpoints etc.)
Other Key Skills:
  • Good communication, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work and interact with other teams to deliver on agreed deadlines.
  • Customer service focused approach.
