At DPD UK we also aim to deliver the best service, use the best technology and recruit and retain the best people in the industry.DPD is a Valuable 500 company and a Disability Confident Employer.Job DescriptionOur Software Engineering Manager is currently recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer to join our skilled and innovative IT Department.As a Software Engineer you'll enjoy a high profile role and be a key member of a dedicated team that underpins and supports business-wide change by transforming requirements into innovative IT solutions.Key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Building, deploying and maintaining scalable products and services
  • Consistently write, translate and code software according to specifications and standards
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects in conceptualising and developing software solutions
  • Ability to work alongside UX Designers, Developers and Testers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build a rapport with key stakeholders and Project Managers
QualificationsWhat we're looking for;To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • 3+ Years building solutions primarily in JavaScript/TypeScript and using frameworks such as NodeJS and ReactJS
  • Be proficient with version control systems such as using Git as well as being comfortable contributing to pull requests
  • A strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery processes such as Jenkins and Github Actions
  • Strong Knowledge of database such as MySQL and NoSQL (eg; MongoDB)
  • Exposure of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure is also an advantage
  • Able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and is able to multitask when required
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to see and keep track of the “big picture”
