
Switchboard Operator

- Provide efficient, courteous, and helpful support to callers.
- Operate the internal bleep system.
- Proactively maintain the computer database of hospital personnel, departments, and telephone numbers.
- Undertake any clerical duties necessary to promote efficiency at all times.
- Follow internal and external major incident and emergency procedures (e.g., bomb alerts, chemical spillage, hospital shutdown).
- Manage the CAFM system and internal Helpdesk, liaising with members of the FM team to process and relay information.
- Work on public and bank holidays when required, as the department operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Strong communication and clerical skills, including computer literacy.
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to cope well under pressure.
- Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
