Our client, a respected and well-established veterinary hospital in Hertfordshire, is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced team.This opportunity has arisen due to the relocation of one of their valued vets and offers the chance to work within a busy, supportive environment where a wide variety of cases are seen and treated in-house.The Role:- Predominantly a first-opinion hospital position with exposure to an extensive range of medical and surgical cases- Majority of procedures carried out within the hospital, with minimal referral unless advanced imaging or specialist diagnostics are required- Excellent opportunity to build skills in complex surgery and medicine while supported by an experienced team- Participation in the hospital's out-of-hours service, on a regular weeknight and weekend rota shared with 9 other vets- Full-time hours preferred, though flexibility may be consideredOphthalmology Focus (Desirable):The departing vet holds a certificate in ophthalmology and has built a strong reputation and consistent caseload in this field, with approximately 40-50% of their weekly time dedicated to ophthalmology consultations and surgeries.While not essential, an interest or qualification in this area would be a significant advantage and would allow the continuation and further development of this valuable service in-house.What's on Offer:- Competitive salary, dependent on experience- Generous CPD allowance with full support for certificates and further qualifications- Professional fees covered (RCVS, VDS, and one additional membership)- Relocation assistance available for candidates moving to the area- Supportive and collaborative team culture with a strong focus on clinical standards and patient careAbout You:- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with confidence in routine first-opinion consultations and surgeries- Enthusiastic about managing a varied caseload, including medical and surgical cases rarely referred externally- Keen to contribute to an out-of-hours service as part of a fair and supportive rota- An interest or certificate in ophthalmology would be an advantage but is not required- Committed to delivering a high standard of patient care and excellent client communicationThis is an excellent opportunity for a vet who thrives in a busy hospital environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is seeking a role where professional growth and high-quality clinical care are valued.Please let me know if this role would be of interest to you or anyone you know.If you are looking to get additional information feel free to get in touch:This email address is being protected from spambots.
