- Inspection and other evaluations of products received from supply chain partners
- Regular communications & development activities with the supply chain, including but not limited to the following:
- Telephone, MS Teams & email communications regarding product quality
- Telephone, MS Teams & email communications regarding ongoing product/process improvement activities
- Telephone, MS Teams & email communications regarding CAPA activities
- Other Telephone, MS Teams & email communications as deemed required by the Quality Manager at the Dundee site
- Draft/update/improve supplier quality and incoming inspection instructions as necessary
- Interpret and implement quality assurance standards
- Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards
- Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data.
- Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspections systems
- Plan, conduct, and supervise test and inspection of materials and products to ensure high quality and reliability
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues as they relate to the supply chain
- Collect and compile statistical quality data and identify trends
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
- Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions with respect to the supply chain and internally
- Prepare reports and communicate results of quality inspection activities to leadership
- Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
- Evaluate corrective action completeness and effectiveness, both internally onsite & with supply chain
- Monitor risk management activities
- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Prioritize work and meet business needs
- Recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
- PRODUCT INSPECTION - Execution and approval of product inspection reports, including receiving inspection (raw materials and outsourced services), in-process, final inspection/test, outgoing product audits, and First-Article-Inspection reports.
- CALIBRATION - Control of the Measuring and Monitoring devices, including internal and external calibration, and keeping the register and records of all calibration activities.
- NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION - Collaborate with New Product Introduction and Product Transfer programs, in association with design, process, production and planning departments by ensuring quality plans are adequate and completed per the defined milestones.
- PROCESS ASSESSMENT - Execution of process audits onsite or within the supply chain. Generate reports and metrics of such activities. Keep a register of finding and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant operations team. Process Assessment activities may include participation in Quality Assurance System Audits (such as ISO / AS standards).
- QUALITY ISSUES - Coordination for resolution of quality related issues, including supplier, internal (site), intercompany and customer complaints / returns. This activity includes the assurance of timely response of SCARs from customers, as well as NCMR / CARs assigned by or to other Smiths Interconnect sites.
- Supplier Quality & Development - Partner with supply chain in adequate completion of CAPA requests due to nonconforming or discrepant material. Collaborate with regularity ensuring supply chain partner are engaged in continual improvement activities.
- MRB ACTIVITIES - Coordination of MRB activities, including reporting issues and corrective actions to relevant parties, and the custody and timely disposition of the non-conforming material.
- PROBLEM SOLVING AND ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS - Coordination of formal Corrective Actions, including the review and approval of Problem Statements, Root Cause Analysis, Action Plans, and Validation of the Corrective Actions. This may include interaction with customer representatives.
- PRODUCT RETURNS - Coordination of Customer Return process (RGAs), including the adequate documentation of the RGA status, execution of FAR (failure analysis reports), communication to relevant stakeholders and keep records and metrics of the RGA process performance.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to define problems and trends, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Quality Assurance and AS9100D/ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 experience. Product knowledge in related field.
- Reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
- Contributes to Department functions - meetings, goals, training, etc.
- Completes any additional assignments as requested by Department Manager.
