- Provide strategic leadership and management of the company’s VAT planning and compliance across various jurisdictions.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT returns, reconciliations, and payments.
- Advise on VAT implications of business initiatives, transactions, and changes in legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies related to VAT.
- Liaise with tax authorities and manage VAT audits and inquiries.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to support VAT compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for on all transactions.
- Offer training and guidance to the business on VAT matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of VAT obligations.
- Provide expertise and support for Customs duty-related issues, including tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, and valuation of goods, if applicable.
- Keep abreast of international VAT and Customs duty developments and assess their impact on the business. Support the broader tax team with ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
