These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.Connect to your opportunityThis AWS Principal Architect roles sits in the UK CBS organisation and will be part of the NSE Cloud leadership team working closely with ITS leaders across North and South Europe driving the delivery, adoption and strategy for cloud across the region.Reporting to the Head of NSE Cloud Architecture, the AWS Principal Architect will be responsible for driving forward the AWS Cloud platform and providing solutions architecture advice to stakeholders. This role is more than acting as a technical point of contact, the right candidate will be able to translate industry and internal standards into strategy for the engineering team, will guide more junior architects, and evangelise for the platform to meet the use cases for cloud across North and South EuropeTechnical· Act as a design authority and SME for the AWS cloud· Be the technical point of contact and lead, assisting and advising where necessary other team members and those from other business areas as required.· With the relevant platform engineering team, continually enrich the Deloitte Cloud AWS Platform, enabling best practices in Security, Automation and Reliability.· Continue to develop your career by maintaining up-to-date technology knowledge and fine tuning communication and influencing skills.Relationship Management· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the AWS architects and engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.· Liaise with various other teams and colleagues on regional and global programmes, and align on standards and policies.· Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners and suppliers, by having regular conversations, attending conferences, and by organising and/or attending supplier workshops.· Work with CISO function to ensure solution designs meet both Deloitte's Global and regional policies and standards. Contribute to evolve policies and standards.Strategic· In cooperation with other cloud teams, align services and maintain roadmap for the platform.· Stay abreast with emerging technologies and trends across all Enterprise Architecture domains with a focus on cloud specifically.· Work directly with various businesses across multiple countries (including business relationship managers) to gain a deep understanding on business requirements and future direction.· Design services to meet future business needs.· Drive and support collaborative solution option analysis and recommend high level solutions and approach.Connect to your skills and professional experience· Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrable experience of hosting patterns in on-premises data centres and on public clouds, specifically AWS, including virtual servers, virtual storage, containers, serverless computing, resilience and recovery patterns, RPO & RTO, and including inter-system communications constructs including database access, third-party gateways, synchronous and asynchronous messaging, API's, Web Services, transit networks, directory services (AD) integration, and more.· Recent Cloud Architecture certification in AWS.· Knowledge and demonstrable experience of cloud connectivity options, load balancers, network zoning and segregation, proxies, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, QOS and more.· Good working knowledge of network security principles and constructs including firewalls, DLP, Multi-Factor Authentication and PAM.· Demonstrable experience in bringing the above knowledge and experience to bear in creating high and low level designs and then communicating the reasons behind key and potentially contentious design constructs.· Excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills; you will often find in situations where you have to describe problem statements, solution options, your analysis and recommendations to a mix of technical, non-technical and C-level stakeholders, and use strong influencing skills to gain consensus and an agreed way forward.· Able to document and diagram solutions and technical ideas.· Good supplier relationship management and communications skills and ability to establish and maintain effective key stakeholder relationshipsConnect to your service line - Enabling FunctionsCollaboration is central to everything we do at Deloitte.
