- Be responsible for a caseload of more complex cases, providing insightful advice to fellow social workers.
- Support your colleagues by offering guidance to less experienced social workers, and supervise students, trainees, and support staff.
- Participate actively in planning and reviewing cases to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families, and carers.
- Promote independence and early intervention by providing sound advice and support.
- Liaise with colleagues across departments and external agencies to gather essential information for assessments and care planning.
- Maintain and update case notes and records to the highest ethical and quality standards.
- Generate high-quality reports and, when necessary, provide evidence in court settings.
- Work effectively in complex situations, evaluate practices, and contribute to capacity building within communities and organisations.
- Serve as a trusted knowledge source for peers, offering guidance and advice.
- Engage in duty matters through a rota system to provide comprehensive support.
- Hold a professional qualification in Social Work with substantial experience in a relevant field.
- Possess deep knowledge of care assessment, planning, and an understanding of relevant legislation.
- Showcase supervisory skills, especially in guiding students, trainees, and support staff.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical, planning, and communication abilities.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a Cared for Children Team, with specific responsibilities for dealing with more complex cases, including assessment and appropriate management of risks
