We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Wigan for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 5 Saturdays. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.The Vet would be joining a team of 4 other vets, 8 RVNs, a large nonclinical support team and 2 VCAs. The practice is flexible with regards to the rota and working hours would be up for discussion.Two of the Vet ream are currently working towards certificate in Medicine and Surgery so they welcome applications from Vets looking to study towards post graduate qualifications. Whilst the role would suit an experienced surgeon, they also are able to support a newly graduated Vet as plenty of support is available.The practice build in admin time into each working day and the Vets are supported by highly experienced Nurses. The Nursing team boast 3 advanced diploma holders, an ECC and ISFM Feline Nurse and all of the team adhere to practice protocols and provide a high standard of veterinary care.Key details

About you:
  • You will be competent in routine surgeries and consultations and be able to perform routine surgeries on your own
  • Previous experience in emergency surgery would be advantageous
  • Previous experience with rabbits is an advantage
  • You will have strong medic skills
  • You will be comfortable with some sole charge responsibility
  • You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
  • You will be passionate about all aspects of your Veterinary Work
  • You will be happy to share knowledge and mentor others where required
  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
