We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour and Pastoral Mentor to join our specialist team and help our pupils thrive.🏫 About the School:We are a nurturing and inclusive SEN primary school in Crawley, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Our school is a safe and supportive space where every child is encouraged to grow, learn, and succeed.💼 The Role:As a Behaviour and Pastoral Mentor , you will play a key role in supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to create a consistent and caring environment. You will help pupils develop self-regulation, resilience, and confidence through tailored interventions and daily support.🌟 Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Implement and monitor behaviour support plans and pastoral strategies
- De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour support techniques
- Build trusting relationships with pupils, promoting emotional well-being and self-esteem
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil reviews and planning
- Proven experience working with children with SEN and behavioural needs
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed practice
- Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant training or qualifications in behaviour support, youth work, or pastoral care (desirable)
