This role is ideal for someone who values the power of language and is ready to keep students engaged and on track during teacher absences.You’ll deliver pre-planned English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students explore everything from creative writing to literary analysis, while maintaining a calm and structured classroom environment.Key Responsibilities:Deliver pre-set English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4Engage students in reading, writing, and critical thinkingMaintain behaviour expectations and create a supportive learning spaceRecord attendance and report any incidents or safeguarding concernsOffer clarification on lesson content and support with classworkBe flexible to cover other subjects when neededYou’ll be a great fit if you:Have experience working in a secondary school or educational roleHold a degree or strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or LiteratureAre confident with classroom management and student engagementCommunicate clearly and supportively, even under pressureHold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)Are passionate about education and student development
