- Conduct detailed visual inspection of manufactured components for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Operate and program CMM equipment (Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or similar) to perform precise dimensional inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Record and report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation for quality control purposes.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure ongoing compliance and quality improvements.
- Travel to various client and company sites across the UK as required.
- Proven experience in a Quality Control, Quality Inspection, or Metrology role within a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CMM operation and programming (PC-DMIS or similar software preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies or defects.
- Proficient in interpreting complex technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Flexible and willing to travel to different locations across the UK.
- Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, or medical sectors.
- Formal engineering or quality-related qualifications (e.g., HNC, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of additional measurement tools and techniques (e.g., micrometers, shadowgraphs, height gauges).
