We are recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team (PIC) based in Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow. This opportunity is ideally suited to a construction lawyer with renewable energy experience.Your TeamPICPIC has expertise across various sectors, including energy, utilities, civil and other heavy engineering, real estate development and infrastructure.PIC has enjoyed significant growth and investment, making it an exciting and rewarding team to be a part of. The national Legal 500 team (with a presence in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Glasgow) comprises approximately 34 people, including support and lawyers across all levels of seniority. There is genuine opportunity for lawyers of mid to senior level to progress rapidly within the team and be part of its continued success.Future EnergyNumerous members of the PIC team work cross-discipline with other lawyers in TLT as part of the Future Energy sector team to advise our clients on energy projects.TLT is one of the top legal advisors in this sector. We have been ranked (i) in the top ten most influential law firms in clean energy M&A worldwide in Clean Energy Pipeline’s 2025 Clean Energy Legal League Table, and (ii) 4th in the top 20 global law firms by number of M&A deals - reflecting TLT’s position as one of the most active clean energy advisers across the globe.We have over 150 energy lawyers within the Future Energy sector team, spanning all UK jurisdictions. This team is actively involved in advising on a high volume of deals, including some of the UK's largest and most complex clean energy transactions. We act for developers, funders and sellers/purchasers of these projects.Your RoleYou will:
  • Lead client work in the future energy sector on complex contracts, with appropriate levels of Partner support
  • Delegate to and receive support from Associates, Trainees and Paralegals
  • Develop excellent relationships across our client base
  • Support the Partner team on tenders
  • Participate in business development activity to strengthen the team and firm client base
  • Supervise Associates, Paralegals and Trainees, to support them in their development
  • Contribute to team strategic planning and business development activities
Your Skills and ExperienceYou will be/have:
  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered or equivalent), 5PQE+, with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of working in the future energy/renewable sector and well versed in dealing with standard industry forms with expertise in non-contentious construction and/or projects related matters
  • A creative, forward thinker, with proven analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
  • A client focussed approach with the ability to nurture long standing relationships
  • Proven experience of supervising and/or managing junior team members
  • The drive and ambition to succeed as a key senior component of the team at TLT, with the commitment to developing the firm’s offering locally and nationally and sharing our people focused values
