- Understanding of the Mental Health Act 2007
- Good verbal communication skill
- Ability to prioritise incidents based on dynamic risk assessment
- Ability to produce evidential written reports both handwritten and electronic
- Flexible approach to working
- Able to work shifts over 24/7 period
- Ability to maintain an accurate notebook
- Good written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft office word and Outlook applications
- Competent in the use of 2-wat radio
- competent in the use of CCTV
- knowledge of CCTV systems
- Level of personal fitness that enables prolonged foot patrols and standing
- Level of personal fitness that enables assistance in the transfer of BTM
- Level of personal fitness that enables assistance with restraints
- A good level of personal fitness
- Concentration required when writing reports of serious incidents, frequently interrupted by emergency security incidents
- To maintain accurate written records of security incidents and complete the appropriate electronic forms, police witness statements and duty log
- Experience in incident logging/reporting
- Experience in dealing with confrontational issues and dealing with violent and/or abusive visitors/patients
- Experience in BTM transfer
- Experience in dealing with confrontation
- Experience in dealing with volatile situations
- Experience in working with people who have diverse needs/ requirements
- Experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds/ethnicity
