
CNC Machinist (3 Axis)

- Prepare for machining by reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work orders, drawings, and parts lists.
- Set up CNC lathes (3-axis) and, where authorised, create or modify CNC programs.
- Machine components including rods and cylinders, inspecting raw materials for defects prior to use.
- Carry out in-process and final inspections in line with company quality procedures.
- Obtain “First-Off” approvals as per internal policy.
- Maintain accurate records including batch cards, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and report any equipment issues.
- Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean, safe, and compliant with HSE procedures.
- Work independently and proactively, following all relevant SOPs, quality standards, and risk assessments.
- Undertake any training necessary for the role and contribute to continuous personal and professional development.
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe setter/operator (3-axis).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Competence with CNC controls and measurement tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- Understanding of quality inspection procedures.
- Able to work independently and take initiative.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to edit or create CNC programs.
- Formal engineering or machining qualifications.
- Experience in small-batch or one-off production.
