The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning, including covering lessons, planning some lessons, and delivering high-quality educational experiences. The HLTA will report directly to the Headteacher and Deputy Head, and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and teachers to provide targeted interventions and support.Key Responsibilities:
  • Cover classes and deliver lessons using school-approved schemes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of education.
  • Plan and deliver lessons under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Provide specialized support and interventions to students, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Utilise CPOMS for safeguarding and tracking student welfare.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Relevant qualification, such as a Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
  • Demonstrated competence in literacy, numeracy, and ICT.
  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A strong commitment to supporting the learning and development of all students.
  • Knowledge and adherence to the Teaching Assistant Standards.
