- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, using high-quality beans and proper techniques
- Overseeing coffee shop operation and supporting manager
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other café equipment
- Create visually appealing latte art to enhance the customer experience
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system
- Handle cash and card transactions with precision
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information and recommendations
- Assist in managing inventory and stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during peak hours
- Stay updated on coffee trends and Baxterstorey's menu offerings
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines
- Proficiency in creating latte art and other decorative coffee presentations
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Competent in cash handling and using POS systems
- Food hygiene certificate (preferred)
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
