Together with our passionate fans and valued network of partners, we are developing Manchester City's future history.We're seeking a driven practitioner to lead the planning, delivery, and review of tailored physical development programmes for our Elite Development Squad (U21), ensuring each player has an individualised training plan underpinned by objective profiling and clear physical targets. You'll work closely with EDS coaches, Academy leaders, and First Team staff to ensure seamless player transition between squads, delivering targeted support to maximise potential.Alongside this, you'll contribute to the wider physical performance strategy, supporting U21 squad delivery and collaborating on Academy-wide initiatives.   • To lead the planning, delivery & review of individual physical development support to identified Elite Development Squad (U21) players, ensuring that each player individual physical priorities and integrated individualised developmental training plans in-place, driven by objective profiling with clear priority physical targets.
  • Working collaboratively with age group coaches and practitioners, contribute to the planning, delivery, and review of the EDS programme with on and off-pitch physical training support focussing on maximising physical potential and preparation for the demands of the highest level of the game.
  • Working in partnership with the PDP Physical Performance Coach - U21 to ensure implementation of physical profiling and ongoing monitoring of physical qualities against prioritised targets within the U21 group, reporting to key stakeholders on the physical performance progress of the team and individuals within the U21 age group at regular and appropriate intervals.
  • Ensure the implementation of player monitoring systems (performance, development, workload, and response), generating insights that are used to inform U21 MDT decision making and player management on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with a collaborative interdisciplinary approach, maintain strong and effective working relationships with the wider MDT (performance, coaching, operations, player support), including the role modelling and upholding of the MCFC Academy standards and behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead & assistant Academy Performance Nutritionists to support the practical implementation of fuelling and hydration strategies as required.
  • As an important member of the Academy Physical Performance team, proactively support the ongoing development and implementation of the MCFC Academy Performance strategy and best practice implementation of physical performance support across the academy.
What we are looking for
  • Significant experience of delivery physical performance support to teams and individuals to achieve objective outcomes in performance sport.
  • Previous experience of delivery physical performance support in elite high-performance sport outside of football.
  • Undergraduate & Postgraduate degree in related field
  • UKSCA accreditation or equivalent
  • Significant experience of delivery physical performance support to teams and individuals to achieve objective outcomes in performance sport.
  • Current FA safeguarding and emergency aid certifications.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be flexible
  • BASES accreditation or currently engaged in achieving accredited status.
  • Previous experience of delivery physical performance support in elite high-performance sport outside of football.
  • Understanding of growth & maturation related influence on physical development & injury risk.
