We're in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide when it comes to employee engagement and ranked as a Top 50 UK Employer on Glassdoor.Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for a Project Manager to join the EICA River team.EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOWWorking within a delivery team, the Project Manager will be accountable for delivering a portfolio of EICA River projects focused on Continuous River Water Quality Monitoring deployments across the Severn Trent estate.Within this role the Project Manager will take responsibility for the delivery, commissioning, and handover of projects.The Project Manager will be required to:-
  • Lead the delivery of multiple EICA River projects following the river monitoring delivery process, across multiple different sites at any one time.
  • Produce and provide regular updates on project progress to the Lead Project Manager and key internal stakeholders.
  • Manage project finances, including monitoring spend against approved budgets, as well as updating and reporting forecast spend plans.
  • Have knowledge of the CDM regulations and ensure all requirements are fulfilled in projects.
  • Ensure site inspections, audits and quality checks are undertaken appropriately on projects.
  • Coordinate with all key stakeholders to ensure full commissioning and testing is completed in a timely manner, and witness testing on behalf of the Client, where required.
  • Develop and manage strong working relationships with Contractors to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to agree solutions, designs, and any changes, and also support the coordination of site activities on live operational sites.
  • Undertake contract management and administration activity associated with the projects, this will include fulfilling the role of Project Manager (or equivalent, depending on type of Contract) on behalf of the Client.
  • Work collaboratively and support the team with delivery of the wider EICA investment programme. This may include overseeing the delivery of small works by other team members, directing their activity, and coordinating their reports on project progress.
Working and walking near water are essential requirements for this role, due to the locations being near water, in both Severn Trent and 3rd party land.Water Rescue 3 training shall be provided to ensure safety working in / near rivers.WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLEThe base location for this role is our Raynesway, Derby office. However, it is essential you are mobile and able to travel across the Severn Trent region, as you will be expected to visit sites during the working week.The successful candidate will ideally have experience in working within or leading on EICA and telemetry projects in the utilities sector or similar, and you'll ideally have some experience working within NEC3/4 contracts. However, this is not essential.The role is an all-rounded Project Manager however there will be a big focus on managing varying contracts and negotiations that are involved through the process.Skills and experience are important, but character, positivity, and a caring attitude matter too.
