If speculative CVs are sent, no fee will be applicable - please direct all queries to the relevant Resourcing Partner.FABRICATION WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR - FABRTICATIONPAISLEYWhat you will be doing:An opportunity has arisen for A Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.Ideally, you will based in or around the Paisley area.As Fabrication Workshop Supervisor, you will be:
- Overseeing of workshop operations including plant and equipment inspections
- Managing a small fabrication team, including allocation of work and performance monitoring.
- Fabricating and welding steelwork from detailed fabrication drawings
- Fabricating small to large assemblies
- Checking components to ensure they meet the specifications of the drawing
- Undertaking self-inspection of work
- Using MIG welding equipment, cutting equipment, saws, drilling machines and small hand tools to produce quality fabrications to required tolerances
- Identifying any problems or discrepancies along with potential alternative manufacturing methods and reporting to Operations Manager
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- M.A.G.S welding experience
- Previous work with Stainless an advantage but not necessary
- Must be able to work in a team and on own initiative
- Have a background in a similar work environment
- Use of MIG welding equipment, cutting equipment, saws, drilling machines and small hand tools to produce quality fabrications to required tolerances
- Experience of lifting, turning, and moving heavy loads
- Safety is paramount so a good understanding and awareness of this is required
- You'll need to be a Fabricator with extensive experience of mild steel structural steelwork
- Desirable training: -
- City & Guilds parts 1, 2 & 3 preferred or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Welding
- Abrasive Wheels
- Fork truck / Telehandler licence
