  • Support children's learning and overall well-being in a caring and safe environment.
  • Assist with care needs as required, implementing positive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
  • Build warm, supportive relationships with students to foster a sense of safety and encourage learning.
  • Promote independence and personal development, maintaining high behavioural expectations.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, differentiated educational activities.
  • Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming for students to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and behaviour.
Expectations / RequirementsWe're looking for you, if:
  • You have 6-12 months of experience in SEN or SEMH settings.
  • You have experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • You have experience working with challenging behaviours.
  • You possess transferable skills from SEN care, residential care, personal assistant roles, or fostering (considered an advantage).
  • You are available full-time (generally 8:15 am - 4:40 pm, Monday-Friday).
  • You have a driving license due to the school's location.
  • You are not on a graduate visa (sponsorship not offered).
  • You do not have visa restrictions.
  • You have UK-based experience.
  • You have excellent spoken and written English.
  • You have a pass grade in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.

  • Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 actual salary
  • Hourly Rate: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour
