As our Apprentice Payroll Administrator, you will be supporting our Payroll Account Managers in processing payroll for multiple SMEs within the UK and Europe.Who are CE Back Office?CE Back Office provide outsourced payroll services and we specialise in dealing with companies that pay their workers by the hour. Although a payroll apprenticeship can be a great foundation to many careers, we’re seeking to recruit an individual who wants to develop a career within payroll and hopefully at CE Back Office.What does the role of Apprentice Payroll Administrator involve?The position is a varied role working closely with Payroll Account Managers to ensure payroll reports are generated accurately and on time for our clients.Responsibilities will include:
  • Administering new starters details for clients including manual data entry and importing CSV files onto our payroll software
  • Pension administration including administering pension opt outs / ins and uploading pension contribution files to a number of different pension providers.
  • Uploading remittance to Child Maintenance Service.
  • Answering incoming calls from clients and their employees.
  • Responding to emails.
  • Dealing with inbound and outbound post.
  • Scheduling weekly SMS net pay text messages.
  • Issuing E Payslip login details and resetting passwords as required.
  • Assisting with payroll checking.
  • Generating reports for clients.
What skills do you need?Payroll requires a variety of skill sets include:
  • Maths; you will be required to do manual payroll calculations. Although training will be provided you need to be capable of multiplication and percentage calculations. A grade 5 or higher in Maths GCSE is required (or equivalent).
  • Communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Excel - you will be required to use formula and pivot tables. Previous experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided.
  • Attention to detail; you will need to demonstrate the ability to follow procedures accurately and to sense check your work. You will need to be able to analyse data, judge and interpret to make decisions quickly.
  • Problem solving; ability to resolve problems related to both data and IT systems.
  • Team player; in supporting your co-workers you need to be supportive to each other in working towards a common goal.
