- Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting any commercial risks and mitigation for these.
- Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts, identifying commercial risks and opportunities to ensure correct contract planning from the outset.
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity labour targets are agreed and issued before contract start, including direct labour incentives where possible.
- Build strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relations, to ensure any variations and progress of contracts are discussed and mutual, commercially viable solutions are sought, always.
- Complete and analyse weekly reporting from site, ensuring it has adequate cost information (including labour rates and performance expectations, budgets, value, progress, quality, and safety)

- Proven experience in a similar estimating and commercially focused surveying role. Experience of the commercial ownership of projects and contracts from tender and estimation stages through to final account. Experience of working for a painting or refurbishment contractor would be very advantageous.
- Experience of successfully managing commercially, a total value of works up to £2 million annually.
