1x Part-time, permanent post (Band 7)We're looking to recruit a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist Midwife on a part time basis at Whiston Hospital!They will work as a midwife within the Perinatal Mental Health Service, accepting direct referrals from a range of sources to provide assessment of mental health needs, developing care plans in collaboration with members of the Perinatal Mental Health Team.They will also provide short term support and onward referral to appropriate services as required. To promote and steer evidence based best practice for women with perinatal mental health issues throughout their maternity pathway.The job description is subject to change as per AfC review.Main duties of the jobWorking collaboratively with the Perinatal Mental Health Lead Consultant and external partners, the Perinatal Mental Health Specialist Midwife will be focused on ensuring the delivery of high-quality midwifery care that is patient centred, clinically driven and flexible, providing support to women experiencing by mental health problems in the perinatal period.The post holder will have responsibility for coordinating the care for women requiring specialist input from the Perinatal Mental Health Team in the antenatal and the post-natal period including the provision of complex care plans alongside the provision of input into intrapartum care relating to perinatal mental health.About usMersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust serves a population of over 600,000 with a workforce of over 10,500 dedicated and skilled staff across 21 sites.We strongly believe that the communities we serve should all have access to Five Star Patient Care.Our services:Acute CareProviding emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.Primary CareProviding primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.Community ServicesProviding adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire.
