Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Part time (30 Hours) and Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Horwich BL6. This role requires you to be a driver.As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life.We support 3 individuals 2 male one female, with a variation of needs. We support out on multiple activities from social clubs to volunteer jobs. We support on physiotherapy led activities, swim, gym sessions. We support to weekly bikes. Watching Bolton wanderers, bowling, cinema, garden centres, bingo and many more weekly activities.You will be providing support with household duties from cooking and cleaning to finding cost effective utilities providers, they need support with their finances, seeing family maintaining friendships. Medication administration, medical appointments reviews and personal care. General day to day living.It's a very active house so the candidate would need a good amount of energy to meet the needs of the service and the people we support.What we're looking for:
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

It is essential and this role requires you to be a driver and hold a valid UK driving licences and be able and willing to drive manual vehicles that belong to the people we support.Contract options:
  • Part-time: 30 Hours - flexible hours based on availability
  • Relief
Shift times:All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
  • Days: Between 07:00-23:00
