
Electrical Engineer HV (High Voltage)

- Performing Senior Authorised Person (SAP) duties up to and including 11KV.
- Duty Holder for all LV & HV electrical systems.
- Point of reference for site and responsible for the operation and repair of large-scale CHP (21MW installed capacity).
- Reviewing, improving, and implementing electrical safety standards in compliance with applicable regulation.
- Liaise with the internal project team and contracted service providers.
- Point of reference for site and responsible for the operation and repair of HV and LV switchboards, transformers, UPS systems, power factor correction, variable speed drives (up to 1 MW) and other electrical equipment.
- Work with the electrical maintenance engineering team on fault finding diagnosis into operational defects and in developing solutions.
- Support the ongoing development of the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) Mainsim.
- Managing electrical inspections and testing, ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date under E@WA and DSEAR
- Support the mechanical maintenance team as required with isolations and integration of new plant.
- Undertake other duties as reasonable requested.
- Hold a minimum of HNC level in Electrical Engineering and the ability to demonstrate suitable experience in a similar role.
- Currently holding SAP or AP status and seeking to progress to Authorising Engineer in the future.
- Good working knowledge of electrical equipment and systems (protection systems, HV switchgear, electrical generating plant, HV/LV transformers, control systems).
- Proven experience in an operational, maintenance or construction environment, with a bias towards power generation.
- Experience with fault diagnosis and developing solutions.
- Knowledge of current electrical legislation.
- Strong computing skills including MS office, Windows 10.
- Competent team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to share knowledge and mentor others/juniors as applicable.
