Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join its friendly and dynamic workshop team based at the Warndon Depot, Pershore Lane, Lyppard Bourne, WR4 0AA. This temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to work on servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles, including Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), while maintaining the company’s high standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for thorough vehicle examinations, diagnosing defects, conducting servicing, maintenance, and repairs, as well as performing vehicle road testing to ensure all work meets required standards. The role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The pay rate is up to £20.00 PAYE or £25.00 PAYE Umbrella per hour.Key Responsibilities:
Undertake thorough vehicle examinations to diagnose defects.
Perform vehicle road testing to ensure work is completed to the correct standards.
Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a range of vehicles including HGVs.
Maintain high standards of health and safety and comply with company policies.
Record and report on work completed accurately.
Collaborate with workshop colleagues to ensure efficient operations.Skills:
Vehicle fault diagnosis and defect identification.
Experience in servicing and repairing HGVs and other fleet vehicles.
Ability to perform vehicle road testing.
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Own set of tools preferred.
Flexibility and willingness to learn.Software/Tools:
Diagnostic equipment and tools relevant to vehicle maintenance.
Basic IT skills for recording job details and reporting.Certifications & Standards:
Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in vehicle maintenance or mechanical engineering preferred.
Valid driving licence.
Ability or willingness to obtain PCV and forklift truck licences if required.
