Full Time / PermanentRemarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor that specialises in fit-out and refurbishment works across Education, Healthcare, and Leisure sectors.We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS at intermediate level who thrives in a fit-out environment and enjoys managing multiple fast-paced projects ranging from £10k to £2m.The successful Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, commercial leads, and design teams to ensure the financial performance and commercial control of all fit-out schemes — both on-site and from the head office.Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of tenders, including Bills of Quantities and activity schedules
- Accurately forecast project cost, value, and cashflow for multiple fit-out contracts
- Manage risk and commercial reporting in collaboration with the project team
- Handle applications, certification, subcontractor accounts and valuations
- Procure subcontractor packages, ensuring value for money and project alignment
- Conduct site visits as required to support surveying duties and monitor delivery
- Apply commercial procedures and ensure JCT contract compliance throughout
- Drive project margins and maintain commercial discipline across all live sites
- Strong experience as a QS in commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
- Excellent understanding and hands-on use of JCT contracts
- Comfortable managing multiple smaller schemes, while supporting larger projects when needed
- High-level skills in valuation, budgeting, subcontract procurement, and forecasting
- Good IT skills (particularly Excel and MS Office)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the M25 region
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent experience)
- Background in education, healthcare, or leisure construction projects
- £45,000 - £50,000 salary (depending on experience and qualifications)
