General Manager / Events Operations Manager - Historic London Venue
Salary: 35-40k
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Annual Leave: 31 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced, passionate and highly organised General Manager / Events Operations Manager to lead event delivery at one of London's oldest and most prestigious livery halls.This is a unique opportunity to shape operations at a historic venue, working with a progressive, creative team committed to exceptional hospitality standards. You'll play a pivotal role in leading service delivery, managing staffing, refining systems, and upholding the venue's legacy through flawless event execution.What You'll Do
  • Act as General Manager on all event days, leading setup, live operations, and breakdown
  • Oversee venue logistics including pack lists, drinks management, linen hire, stock levels and service planning
  • Recruit, train and manage freelance staff for events
  • Deliver and maintain high standards of fine dining service through regular staff training and live supervision
  • Develop and document venue-wide operational systems and improvements
  • Maintain regular communication with the central team, providing performance updates and feedback
What We're Looking For
  • A confident, hands-on leader with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in event catering operations
  • Proven expertise in fine dining service and running events at heritage venues or livery halls
  • Strong experience in staff recruitment, scheduling, and training, with the ability to manage large freelance teams
  • A calm, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to operational problem-solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate across departments and inspire team morale
