Are you an experienced Buyer looking for your next opportunity supporting solutions with the manufacturing sector? If so, the following permanent role might be for you….On behalf of my client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Electronics organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Buyer to work on a permanent basis.The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating and expediting the flow of materials to support production schedules. You will also be responsible for managing inventory levels, supporting materials/production level revision, interacting / co-coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics and supporting other business functions as required.This is a truly exciting role for a candidate who is highly adept at networking and has an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines with high attention to detail. You will be a highly organised individual who is able to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.You will be responsible for:
  • Placing purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production materials as required to support the forecast and production schedule
  • Validating authenticity of MRP and order book and managing both
  • Keeping critical shortage sheets topical and accurate
  • Negotiating MOQ's and EOQ's to obtain best price
  • Managing obsolescence with the suppliers and highlight any liabilities
  • Expediting or deferring orders as required
  • Setting up and maintaining master system procurement parameters
You :
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience with the principles of Transportation /Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Experience, usage and manipulation of MRP / ERP Manufacturing systems
  • Experience of demand planning
  • Experience in designing and executing sourcing strategies
  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
