TI is a dynamic, fast paced and focused department that is responsible for developing and delivering next generation bathing experiences. As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in helping and advising the purchasing categories in formulating and implementing improved ways of managing supplier quality, ensuring new product designs are process and supplier capable, and that product is manufactured to design specification at all times.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing quality expertise utilising quality tools typically inline with 6 sigma processes to ensure best practice application of Design For Manufacture through new product development and in engineering improvement activities.
- Working with design and tooling engineers both internal and external, to provide optimum tooling solutions for both quality and manufacturing.
- Interpreting engineering designs. This includes print reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack analysis.
- Visiting supplier manufacturing facilities. Includes assessment of new and existing suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and risk, audit of production builds for new and existing products, and in-person design review and alignment.
- Assisting in supplier selection process by defining supplier risk relative to purchased part and product development project needs
- Analysis of manufacturing and quality standards of new sources, providing recommendations on supplier selection in conjunction with product technical and commercial support
- Leading cross-functional Print & Process Review (PPR) for purchased parts. Includes understanding part design, manufacturing processes, manufacturing process controls, metrology, and opportunities for risk mitigation.
- Conducting Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for purchased parts. Includes process flow, FMEA, control plan, measurement system analysis (MSA), capability studies, dimensional conformance review, aesthetic review, and performance testing.
- Creating and executing comprehensive quality plans to manage the quality of all purchased parts in projects.
- Providing quality engineering expertise in cost downs in the category concerned and general process improvement activities
- 5+ years experience working in quality or design engineering.
- Batchelors degree in an engineering discipline (Electro-mechanical, mechanical, electronic, aerospace or automotive engineering) or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding, casting, machining, electromechanical systems, assembly, and decorative finishing
- A strong problem-solver with a sharp business mind to identify opportunities
- Comfortable with challenging the status quo and always looking for ways to improve
- A relationship and collaborative team builder - with high levels of empathy
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP, Power BI, and ServiceNow is also a benefit.
