You will work to automate critical processes using digital twins and self driving labs concepts which will include designing, maintaining, and optimizing robotic systems, as well as developing and integrating software.As Sr Automation Engineering Specialist you may be responsible for some of the following deliverables but will be working as part of a team with complimentary skill set:Project Planning and Kickoff – collaborate with key stakeholders to define the project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables for various business processes. Establish a project team and develop a detailed project planRequirements Gathering: Collaborate with various departmental stakeholders to gather the requirements for the closed-loop automation strategy.System Design: Design the architecture for the closed-loop automation systems, including both the robotic systems and the software integration with digital twins and self-driving labsDevelopment of Robotic Systems: Design, build, and maintain robotic systems tailored for the specified automation processes. Prototyping, iterative testing, and refining robotic systems to ensure optimal performance and reliabilitySoftware Development and Integration: Develop software that allows seamless interaction with digital twins and robotics systems, ensuring it integrates smoothly with existing systems. This involves coding, testing, and refinementTesting and Validation: Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing of robotic systems and softwareCommissioning and Deployment: Install and commission the automated systems within the business processes, ensuring they are fully operational and integrated with existing workflows.Training : Provide training to end-users and create detailed documentation for system operation and troubleshooting.Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of the automated systems and enhance efficiency, reliability and performance.RequirementsEducation and Experience:BSc/MSc in an Engineering field, Informatics or Software development is preferred but other areas of study can also be consideredMinimum 3 years’ experience in automation engineering/design/optimizationSkills/AbilitiesKnowledge and experience of physical automated platforms such as robotic arms, liquid handlers, sensors and guided vehicles - ideally Tecan/Hamilton systemsExperience with software interface for robotics platformsPrevious coding/programming experience preferably in Python, Java Script, C++Connectivity experience with Siemens technology and PATStrong communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact well with peers and senior personnel in multidisciplinary teamsBenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
