Salary: From £101.40 to £110 per dayAbout the Role:
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for Psychology Graduates to begin or expand their career in education by working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a large, dynamic school for children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role provides invaluable experience for those looking to pursue careers in educational psychology, social work, or related fields.As a SEN LSA focused on Autism and other special needs, you will support students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them to engage in their learning and personal development in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.Psychology Graduate - Learning Support Assistant Maidenhead - Education and Training - Psychology Graduate Maidenhead - Learning Support Assistant MaidenheadKey Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other special educational needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Promote the emotional, social, and academic progress of students by facilitating learning activities and encouraging positive behavior.
- Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to deliver inclusive teaching methods.
- Support students with their personal care needs, including mobility or medical assistance (training provided).
- Observe and monitor students’ progress, keeping detailed records and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes inclusion and respect.
- A degree in Psychology (or a related field) is ideal but not a deal breaker.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEN is advantageous but not required.
- A passion for supporting children with additional learning needs and a strong desire to make a difference.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
